Getting to Langkawi:

* There is no direct road or rail connection to Langkawi. The most convenient mode of transportation would be by air (~55mins from Kuala Lumpur). Alternatively, travellers are able to board a ferry from Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis directly to Kuah Jetty, Langkawi, which is an approximate 1.5hr ferry ride to Langkawi with an average fare of RM20 one way per adult. 

From Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Kedah Jetty (by road): ~7 hrs

From Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Perlis Jetty (by road): ~8 hrs

From Kuala Lumpur to Alor Setar, Kedah (by rail): Overnight train (Average fare RM100 one way)
