Miri is starting to gain popularity among divers as yet another diving hotspot in Malaysia. Dive the Miri-Sibuti Coral Reef National Park, and you will just know why. With over 100,000km of coral reefs accounting for 800 species of corals, gorgonians, sea whips, sponges all teeming with a variety of marine life (including whale sharks), Miri is surely one of the rising stars in the region.

Santak Point :
• Maximum depth: 35m
• Currents: Mild to moderate
Dive into a reef wreathed in massive gorgonian fans, some of which are 2m across and covered in hard and soft corals. Pelagics are often seen here, including tunas and barracudas. You will also see large schools of batfish, snappers, fusiliers and butterfly fish, as well as angelfish that inhabit the point’s closer reaches. If you’re lucky, mantas can sometimes be spotted too.
Sri Gadong Wreck :
• Maximum depth: 18m
• Currents: Mild to moderate
A favorite among local divers, she is a 30m cargo ship that rests upright on an 18m mud bottom and is renowned for its large resident groupers. The entire wreck is home to a myriad of marine life where you often spot jacks, grunts, batfish, and barracudas encircling around the wreck.
Anemone Reef :
• Maximum depth: 16m
• Currents: Mild
A shallow dive within Miri’s relaxing reef spots where you will witness anemones and their symbiotic clown fishes, bubble corals, feather stars, giant clams, nudibranchs and schooling yellowtails.
Belais Reef :
• Maximum depth: 15m
• Currents: Mild
Dive into a picturesque reef covered with gorgonian trees and sea fans spread over a 19,000m complex. Along your dive, you are certain to see angelfish, butterfly fish, sea perch, lizard fish, nudibranchs. Jacks and yellow snappers are also found in abundance. Batfishes are common among the long swaying sea whip serviced by an entourage of cleaner wrasse and shrimps.
Eve’s Garden :
• Maximum depth: 18m
• Currents: Mild
One of Miri’s best spot for shallow dives, a reef carpeted with soft corals such as leather corals, elephant’s ear sponges and sea whips. Giant anemones and clown fishes inhabit the reefs, along with schooling yellowtail fusiliers and angel fishes.
