Here are some of our favorite dive sites 🙂
House Reef :
Dive into a gentle slope with some boulders and coral formations which is then followed by a small drop off. Here, you will typically spot juvenile pufferfish, porcupine fish, seahorses, blue ribbon eels, pegasus, shrimps and crabs. An ideal relaxing dive for those who like searching for critters.
Tambuli :
Make your way down from the top of the reef which features a carpet of seagrass and coral mounds, going down to around 22m, where a fuselage of an airplane rests. Sometimes currents do pick up, which makes for a fun drift dive where you will see schools of damselfish, sergeant major fish, catfish, butterfly fish, and more.
Agus Wall :
Take a relaxing dive along a wall covered with soft and hard corals which is home to an array of sponges, ferns, anemones and a swarming host of brightly colored reef fish. If you are lucky, you may just be able to spot manta rays and whale sharks cruising by from time to time.
Kon-Tiki :
This is a favorite spot for a night dive along a wall that is abundant with marine life. The sheer amount of crabs, shrimps, octopus, and many other macro critters is sure to keep you entertained. During the day, schools of sardines and mackerel are common spectacles.
Tingo Point :
A deep dive usually reserved for advanced divers. You will descend down a sandy slope until you hit 25m, and then down a wall to a ledge at 40m to what the locals call “shark point”. Here you may have the chance to have an encounter with the thresher sharks, or even the hammerheads.
Nearest Airport :
Mactan Cebu International Airport (IATA: CEB)
Notes :
Flying into Mactan-Cebu Airport is your gateway to one of the best diving in Cebu with airport transfers to the dive resorts (~30mins by car) typically included in the trip itinerary for your convenience. Talk about ease of travel! 🙂
